Imphal, June 19, 2020 (DIPR): BJP candidate Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba won the lone Rajya Sabha seat of the State by defeating his rival, INC candidate Shri Tongbram Mangibabu Singh by a margin of 4 votes today.
52 MLAs casted their votes for the lone seat in which Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba secured a total of 28 votes while Shri Tongbram Mangibabu Singh got 24 votes.
Polling for the lone Rajya Sabha seat was held during the day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and counting was completed by late evening .
