PEOPLE SHOULD FEEL FREE TO APPROACH THE GOVERNMENT

IMPHAL, 24th June (DIPR): People should feel free to approach the Government with their grievances and problems. Since this is a people's Government, it is committed to serve the people without any discrimination based on ethnicity, gender or religion with all sincerity, said IFCD&YAS Minister Shri Letpao Haokip.

The Minister was speaking at a simple yet impressive reception function organised by Anal Naga Chiefs' Association at Chakpikarong sub-divisional headquarters today.

Positing that he is not a representative of just a particular community, he said he is looking forward to work for development of all communities of the State.

He further expressed that he is also looking forward for a better and bigger meeting with the people to make Chandel the most developed district while soliciting the sincere cooperation and support of the people in the Govt's developmental initiatives.

"Do not be carried away by emotion over unfounded propaganda circulated by gossip mongers that are detrimental to development," Shri Letpao appealed to the gatherings.

Later, the Minister inspected SDO office, Chakpikarong Community Health Centre and Chakpikarong Government Higher Secondary School.

Staff of the Government offices there highlighted their needs and infrastructure deficits to the Minister, who also represents 41-Chandel (ST) AC.

He told the staff to submit all the infrastructure requirements in written through SDO, Chakpikarong.

Inspecting Chakpikarong CHC, Shri Letpao Haokip expressed strong displeasure over the state of affairs. He further instructed the staff also to maintain civic sense. "We, people are the Government. Let us not wait for someone to come and serve us. As responsible citizens, we should initiate to take up something that is within our capacity like maintaining healthy environment at health centre," he said.

Later, the Minister attended a felicitation programme for Class X & XII successful candidates organised by KSO-Kana Block at Haika (L) village.

The Minister, enroute to Haika (L) village, was accorded warm receptions at Sarang Rampal, Salluk and Kanan villages.

Addressing the gatherings, Shri Letpao Haokip assured all possible assistance from the Govt side to implement various development schemes/projects like revamping of road connectivity, installation of drinking water supply scheme, construction of community hall and PHC, and sustainable livelihood sources to people of interior areas.

In a gesture to get closer to the people, the Minister interacted with the village chiefs, CSO leaders. Shri Letpao also personally met and heard elders and aged widows.
