27th Ranker In NDA Exam Feted, Cash Incentive For Mirabai Announced By Minister S. Rajen Singh

Imphal, 25th July, 2021(DIPR):-Education & Fishery Minister Shri S. Rajen Singh has announced Rupees 300000/- (three lakh) cash incentive for Olympic Silver Medalist, Saikhom Mirabai Chanu as a token of honour and encouragement for her outstanding achievement in the ongoing Tokyo, Summer Olympics, 2020.

Minister Rajen was speaking at a simple function held for the felicitation of Mr. Namoijam Naoba Meitei who secured 27th all India rank, in the UPSC, National Defence Academy, exam, 2021, at his residence at Salam, Imphal West, today. Shri Rajen said that the laurel brought by Mirabai Chanu has inspired all the young sport talents of the state. It is indeed an exceptional moment of pride of the state and the country. The incentive will be handed over to MIrabai Chanu as soon as she returns in the state, he added. The award is to be sponsored by the education department, Government of Manipur.

During the reception occasion of Namoijam Naoba Meitei, 27th Ranker, All India UPSC, NDA Exam, 2021, Minister Rajen said that securing 27th rank in such all India competitive exams is not an easy task. Such achievers from such a small state should be encouraged by all. They may be set as a model example for the future aspirants. Shri Rajen also handed over Rs. 30,000/- to Naoba for his journey expenditure for training.

Naoba was born and brought up at Khonghampat Khunou. Son of N. Naran and N. (Ongbi) Premila Leima, Naoba Meitei studied at Sainik School Imphal from cl;ass VI standard. He also has outstanding achievements in the fields of sports and other co-curricular activities. Naoba informed that his achievement is because of his teachers and parents, support.

 Sprayer pumps to be used by the farmers of Lamsang A/C was also distributed during the occasion. Zila Parishad Member, Awangkhunou, Z.P, Pradhans, presidents of BJP mandals of Lamsang, local leaders and workers were also present during the occasion.
