Senapati, the 25th January, 2023 (Senapati, DIO): Joining the nationwide observation of 13th National Voters’ Day, the District Election Office, Senapati also observed under the theme “Nothing like voting, I vote for sure” at DRDA Conference Hall, Senapati.
Speaking on today’s programme, Shri Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, District Election Officer/ Deputy Commissioner, Senapati stated that voting is a unique way of exercising ones right. He also applauded the electioneering teams for their immense effort in preparation and smooth conduct of election in the district. He said the machine for printing EPICis already available in the district so that anyone can avail at ease from the office. He further said that the ECI has also brought lot of changes for old age persons and people working outside the stateby enabling to vote from their own respective placesthrough postal ballot. For qualifying the eligibility of voting, the ECI has set the date on the 1st of January, April, July, and October whereas in the earlier year, it was once in a year, he added. He also appealed every citizen both old and young who are eligible of voting to come forward in exercising their voting rights.
Later, the DEO, Senapati distributed EPIC to the newly registered voters and administered the National Voters’ Day pledge. The song ‘Main Bharat Hoon’ by ECI was also launched.
It may be mentioned that National Voters Day has been celebrated on 25th January since 2011 across the country to create electoral awareness among the citizen and to participate in the electoral process. The NVD was also observed in the belike manner in all the sub-divisions of the districts.
The programme was actively by participated by DLO’s, youth volunteers, students, political party representatives and CSO’s.
